Ninth Grade Orientation Meeting
Freshman parents are invited to attend a presentation on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Ms Monique Johnson, Social Worker and Ms. Tara Wright, Guidance Counselor will discuss freshman transition, the developmental changes, and the new experiences of high school.

Test Prep at Little or No Cost
Careful preparation for the SAT and/or ACT can result in a substantial increase in your final score. While many students chose to take a test prep, these courses usually carry a hefty price tag. Individual tutoring also shows good results, but again, the cost can be substantial. Families need to determine the best way for their child to prepare, considering cost among other factors. Here are some additional test prep options-ways you can get ready for admissions tests at little or no cost.

All students should start by getting, and carefully reading a copy of the free test bulletins produced by the College Board (SAT) and/or ACT. The bulletins include test-taking tips, strategies, and test information. The bulletins are available at our school's guidance office. Also, get a copy of the sample test and complete it at home under simulated test conditions. Free on-line practice is also available on the web at the College Board site and the ACT site.
